Hans Hugo Ollendorf/Ollendorff (D) |
|
* 12 Dec 1907 † ? |
Berlin Brazil? |
|
Hans Ollendorf started his racing career in 1929 with an 1100cc Salmson while he was studying in Munich. In 1930 he bought the Bugatti T37 (#37234)
from Heinrich Eckert. In 1931 he started with a Bugatti T37A with a supercharger. He had some class victories in local German hill climb events. He was a friend of Heinrich Joachim von Morgen and
retired from racing after v.Morgen‘s fatal crash at the Nürburgring in June 1932. He sold the Bugatti to Hans Simons. The reason for his retirement could also have been
his Jewish origins. Until 1932 his father was on the board of the AGFA photo company in Wolfen. After the pressure on Jewish families in Nazi Germany increased at the end of 1938, the family
emigrated to Brazil via Switzerland.
